This project is an interactive 3D visualization of a planetary gear in commission of Visual Scale. The 3D object was first prepared and optimized for use in a real-time environment. The project was implemented with Unreal Engine 4.
The user can use a free camera to rotate around the entire object and view it from freely selected perspectives. A zoom function also allows viewing from close up or further away. Further functionalities are provided via a user interface. The gearing can thus be activated and deactivated so that it can also be observed during operation. In addition, the object can be moved into an exploded view for an even more detailed look. Entering the info mode, the user can find a description text for the object, and by clicking on individual components he can highlight them and view more detailed information.
